What is residential care?
Residential care is for the senior who needs assistance with daily life tasks, such as bathing and medication management. The concept behind residential care is to maintain a person's independence for as long as possible. Living options range from private apartments to shared living quarters and take the form of an independent living arrangement, only with the added benefit of nursing care.
How does care for the memory-impaired differ?
The Daybreak Neighborhood at The Birches is designed specifically for those with memory-impairing illnesses such as Alzheimer's Disease. A simple straight configuration allows residents the freedom to explore inside and outdoors without the risk of becoming lost or disoriented. These residents also receive assistance with daily activities, 3 meals a day, housekeeping and linen services plus special programs and therapies.
What type of social and recreational activities do you have available?
Our full-time Activities Director and staff provide a wide range of social, recreational, religious and cultural activities within the community. Group outings such as shopping trips, dining out, local community entertainment and trips are part of the monthly recreational calendar.
