The Birches Celebrates a Birthday!

Ruth Klingler recently celebrated her 104th birthday! Born in 1908, Ruth has lived and experienced over a century of change, spanning from the introductions of the Model T Ford, two World Wars, manned space flight, and the dawn of the 21st century. Those who know and love Ruth will testify that her years have filled her with abundance of love, gentleness and positive outlook. She has many friends, all who deeply admire her determination and kindness.

Married to the late Harry Klingler for 70 years, they have one daughter, Carol. Ruth spent over 85 years singing in her church choir and as a board member. Ruth's faith is an important part of her life, regularly praying for her friends and family. She worked 40 years in the Cheltenham School District – she loved working with children and the education professionals. In 2010, at the age of 102, she decided keeping up her own home was getting a bit too much and moved to the Birches in Harleysville. Only recently did she give up doing her own laundry—reluctantly, she might add. Today, Ruth is busy planning for the future, a wedding or two of her closest friends this summer and a 105th birthday right around the corner.

The Birches at Arbour Square celebrates Oktoberfest in Style!

The Birches at Arbour Square celebrated Oktoberfest in style on October 11, 2009!  Over 200 residents and guests celebrated the event and enjoyed traditional German fare prepared by Generations of Souderton. The staff at The Birches at Arbour Square dressed in traditional dirndls and lederhosen and live traditional German folk music was performed by Glenn Miller’s One Man Band.

The Birches at Arbour Square Hosts Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Reception

A ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception was held at The Birches at Arbour Square, for local business and community officials on March 26th.

The Grand Opening was held on April 4th and featured entertainment by Dean Garafalo, "Elvis."
