Tracey Aungst, Executive Director

Tracey Aungst

Tracey is the Executive Director responsible for the daily operation of The Birches Personal Care. She has worked in senior living for twenty seven years. Tracey worked as a Personal Care Assistant and Medication Technician while in college and enjoyed her time as an Activities Director in both Skilled Nursing and Personal Care. She received her license as a Personal Care Home Administrator in 1999 and also has her credentials as an Assisted Living Administrator in Pennsylvania. Tracey has a BA in Psychology from Albright College and has taken classes from Alvernia College in pursuit of her degree in Occupational Therapy. She is on the board of directors for Greater Harleysville and North Penn Senior Services, which oversees two local senior centers, Encore Experiences and The Peak Center. Tracey has two children. Her son attends Ohio State as a Pre Med student and her daughter is a Musical Theater Major in Long Island, New York. She resides in Douglassville with her husband and two cats.

Mimi Kehan Campus Executive Director

Mimi Kehan

Mimi is the Campus Executive Director, overseeing all daily activity for Arbour Square Independent Living. Prior to working for Arbour Square, Mimi worked in the hotel industry. She started at the Chestnut Hill Hotel overseeing the operations. She then joined the Philadelphia-based McGettigan Partners where she worked for over 25 years. Her primary responsibility was its growth and strategic direction - overseeing revenue and profit goals and ensuring customer service for all locations throughout the United States. Mimi is a graduate of St. Joseph’s University. On a volunteer basis, Mimi’s work has included visiting the elderly at St. Ignatius Nursing Home in Philadelphia, The Villa in Flourtown and St. Mary’s Manor in Lansdale. Mimi is married, has two children and resides in Ambler.

Julie Kline Campus Marketing Director

Julie Kline

Julie is the Campus Marketing Director at The Birches. She has enjoyed working in the healthcare industry for 20 years which include the health insurance industry and in retirement communities. Julie is a graduate of DeSales University with a BA in Business Communications. She is married with two sons and a daughter and enjoys spending time outdoors biking, hiking and gardening. Julie resides in Kempton, Pennsylvania.

Alyssa Barndt Marketing Director

Alyssa Barndt

Alyssa is the Marketing Manager at The Birches.  She recently earned her Marketing B.S. degree from Temple University.  Alyssa began her working career at the young age of 16 assisting her parents run their family operated real estate and insurance business.  During her time at Temple University, Alyssa worked as a Digital Marketing Intern at Arbour Square of Harleysville.  After graduation, Alyssa joined the Arbour Square team full-time as a Marketing Associate. Alyssa currently lives locally in Telford with her husband. She loves to spend her free time venturing into Philadelphia, running, playing with her rescue dog, Kona, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Melissa Gancarz Activity Director

Melissa is the Activities Director at the Birches. Melissa has a passion for working with the geriatric population. She has worked in several personal care communities performing various roles such as direct care, overseeing staff and life enrichment for the past ten years. She strives to ensure that each resident's needs are met spiritually, physically, cognitively, emotionally, socially and environmentally. Melissa enjoys getting to know residents and their hobbies, interests, passions, and heritage. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, crafting, baking, cooking, reading and spending time with her friends and family. She currently resides in Levittown with her boyfriend. Melissa has 2 cats, 2 birds as well as a dog named Dexter. Dexter, has been assisting Melissa in enriching residents lives by making frequent visits to the community.

Nick DelPopolo, Business Office Manager

Nick DelPorpolo

Nick DelPopolo is the Business Office Manager and is primarily responsible for resident billing, accounts payable/receivable and human resources. Nick is a graduate of West Chester University with a BA in Human Resources. He has over twenty four years of experience in human resources and business office management. In 1999 he expanded his career and became a realtor.

Nick spends his free time volunteering with his local fire department. Nick has four children and two grandsons. He resides in Ambler with his two dogs.

William Delany, Maintenance Director

Bill Delany is the Maintenance Director at The Birches. He is responsible for overseeing building repairs, work order requests and laundry/housekeeping. Bill graduated from Gwynedd Mercy College. He began his career in senior living as Director of Environmental Services at Valley Manor Nursing and Rehab Center. Bill was also an Operations Manager at Probes Unlimited. He lives locally in Harleysville. Bill enjoys playing slow pitch softball, and watching college football and basketball.

Kikanza Sanders, Dining Service Director

Kikanza is the Culinary Services Director at The Birches. She is a graduate of Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts and began her career in the hotel industry. For over ten years she worked for the Hyatt corporation and worked her way up as an apprentice to Sous Chef. The past five years Kikanza has spent her career in the senior living industry.

Kikanza resides in Abington with her husband, who is also a chef. Her daughter attends Columbia College of Chicago. She also has two stepsons. Kikanza enjoys travelling, crafting and trying new restaurants.

Brittany Coll, Marketing Associate

Brittany CollBrittany is the Marketing Associate at The Birches. She attended Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, where she received her Bachelor’s in Communication Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations. Brittany has three years of experience in Human Resources post-graduation, and enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends in her spare time. Brittany lives locally in North Wales with her family and two greyhounds.

Denise Sanchez, Daybreak Director

Denise SanchezDenise is the Memory Care Director, overseeing the Daybreak neighborhood within The Birches. Denise has over 15 years of experience in healthcare management including recreational therapy, social services and care coordination. Denise specializes in memory care and holds a certification as a Support Group Facilitator through the Alzheimer’s Association.

Denise lives in Abington with her 4 sons and her cat, Lily. She also takes care of her aging father. Denise is a nurturer by heart and has always enjoyed working in the healthcare industry.
